I have a lift off. Unless you're wanting to save the 12 pounds for the hinges and 2 pounds on the hood for race purposes, I'd go with one with hinges. They're reinforced a bit stronger than the lift offs. Plus no drilling. A lift off needs drilled for the pegs to keep it on
