Stop in for a cup of coffee

Yeah. Both of these stories were shop/dealer installed jobs. Niether were DIYs. I'm just leery of them. I love the one in my Durango, wish I had one in my Jeep. But the Durango one is Factory option. Only complaint is that if it has a check engine light for ANY reason including the oil change indicator, it won't work.
I have installed a few for that very reason.
Most oem remote starters dont run long enough.
I set one command start to run indefinetly.just to see if it would. Ran an hour.

My ignition switch in my intrepid crapped out, lost my heat in the dead of winter.used the remote starter to provide heat for the hour drive to work.

Also used it to charge battery when i was running an inverter during a power outage.
