My career field in the Air Force was called "Ground Radio", lol.

When I was QA for a civilian contact we had, I had to signnoff on an antenna installation on top of a huge water tower. I made it about 10 feet up the tower, climbed back down and signed off. Looked good to me!!

You'd make a great telephone man! Gaff up the pole to make the line good to the demarc, belly crawl under the house to get the line to the back bedroom, then attic crawlspace to find a bad splice...might as well be a tunnel rat.
