With work and this heat (90* +) I haven't done much to the Scamp. I have been gathering parts to do a rear end swap to an 8.75. Ordered SS springs the other day and should be here soon. All I need is axles. Also pick up a kit to move springs in but thats going to be a winter project.
I've been scratching my head with an over charging problem. I have a volt gauge an a amp gauge in the car. At idle Im seeing 14 volts on the gauge and almost 40 on the amp gauge. RPMs go up so do the gauges. Battery is around 13.5 when running. Ive read and looked for and much info as I can. I'm not good at all with electrical problems. I've tired 3 regulators with no change. I've checked grounds. But today I ran a wire from the alternator to the positive side of the battery and bingo it works right. So what does that mean ?????

SS springs showed up yesterday. Looks like it's going to take me a day just to get all the stickers off them.

When to a car show today. Show was at the fairgrounds and old cars kind of took over the small town of Marshall Michigan. Everyone was cruising up and down the main drag in town.

Well speedometer wasn't working so I put in a new cable and now this is what its doing. Anyone got any clue ?

That happened to me. It was behind the speedometer in the gear mechanism there is a small tab that holds speedo needle in place. That tab came loose or undone. I simply put some silicone but after 2 years came loose again. JB weld seems like a better solution.

Happen to have a picture of it ?

Well no sorry. That several years back. Just remember that when it happened saw the metal tab had come loose or undone. I think they come sautered from the factory. But over time and vibration from bumps on the road things just give out.

Found a picture of my first Scamp. Think this was winter of 1987. Spring of 88 I moved to Florida and painted it black when I lived there.

Found a 1974 Plymouth new car brochure on eBay. It has 40 pages and a few of them are for the Duster and Scamp.

Looks like a great time. Awesome photos!
Had a great time. Rained all day Thursday but Friday was nice. Just did the last two days of the tour. Hope to do more next year. Did find a few bugs I need to work out.
