Sorry you lost your Dad like that Mark, from what you told me about him I would have enjoyed knowing him.
I'm gonna try to spend as much time with my father in law as I can he will be 84 soon and not getting any younger.
Our families were all together for the weekend and he had a major heart attack and lasted 24 hrs. He was only 67 at the time so he lost out on a lot of life and only got to see his Grandkids, no Great-Grandkids. He would have loved them to say the least. He had a bit of the devil in him and had a great sense of humour. He has a legacy around here, he started a singing group around here as a Centenary Project in 1967 and it's still going and just celebrated their 51st year. It started out with 12 people and boasts over 50 now. They have made a couple of records and have been on tours in Europe etc.
I think that is lovely for you to take care of your Father-in-Law like that. Good for you Fred.
