Carburator gasket differences?

I think I know the answer to this but I have been wrong so much lately I need confirmation.
My combo is LD4B intake with a new 500 cfm Edelbrock. I ordered the insulator gasket not knowing they offered two, open and middle separator. I installed mine with the open gasket but being 1/2" thick I think it turned my dual plane intake onto a single plane intake. Is it worth my time to get the insulator gasket with the divider and change it so I have a true dual plane intake?

After watching some of the videos on cutting down the wall on intake plenums and gaining power from it I cut the center divider out of my insulator and noticed ZERO difference.
Apparently the cut out divider gives the carb a better vacuum signal as it balances it between all the cylinders instead of just half of them.

All that said, I noticed no change in idle quality, vacuum, power or fuel economy so I wouldn't put too much thought into it unless it was proven on the dyno, or just playing around curiosity.
