Someone posted a thread on how they machined the cones and added shims in the Borg Warner sure grip unit so that it can be used again. I can't find it in my saved threads.
Does anyone have the link to it.
 
I had a problem with the tapers of my cone style SG. The tapers were galled, so I had to grind the tapers on a lathe with a tool post grinder. It seemed to be successful, worked good enough for my combination.

I did, don't remember if I post it. I would say it's at least ten years ago and it still works better than new. Leaving for Vancouver in the morning 'till Monday. If I can help you let me know.
