Not mopar...But my first restore

-
Oh man do I feel terrible for not keeping anyone on here updated. Everyone prolly thinks this project died long ago but life just got in the way. Since the last post I have been rather busy. I bought a house with my fiance, got married, graduated college, and now I am on a honeymoon. Progress has been way too slow. I now have the demon up at my house and the pickup at my dads. Hard to find time for both. I will be starting a thread for the demon soon. Big things to come I hope. Hoping to get a solid week of work in on the pickup after this honeymoon and before starting work. Happy new years to all

Uh, woody-3, I believe you need to reset your priorities.
You're on your HONEYMOON!
FABO readers will be here after you get back home.
Take care of your bride and enjoy your earliest married life together.
LOL

A little progress

So basically a ton of work and not a lot to show for it. I was able to get everything shot in primer and replaced the leaf spring bushings. Should have had the custom exhaust run but the manifolds I ordered didn't fit. Lost time with that. Shoulda been able to start painting or at least thinking about it but summit sent me paint instead of the high build primer I ordered. Lost a lot of time. It took a month and over 6 phone calls and emails with pictures to finally get them to send me what I actually ordered. Frustrating. My time off is over and now I am an hour away from the project and working full time so I am afraid progress will slow a little again. I am making the 4th of July a soft goal, but there is still a ton of work to do.

Alright fellas here’s what’s been happening. Lots of work. Lots of frustration. And lots of beer. But she’s finally coming together.

I was just thinking about your build this weekend. Good to see you are still making progress

Little more progress. Wiper motor. Heater. Brake lines. Rear fenders. Rear bumper. Carb. Drive shaft. And lots of PBR.

Fellas, Bad News. Went for the first test ride. Went smooth...for 15 miles. Rear seal of the tranny went out. Tranny ran dry and ka-boom. Bad day #1. Took to a shop had it fixed professionally. Went to get it and started it up to find a wild knock in the engine. Trailered to the next shop. Sounds like when the engine was rebuilt they didn't break in the cam properly...ka-boom. Bad day #2. :BangHead:

Got her back fellas and damn she runs good! More pictures to come soon! In the meantime I am going to dig into the Demon! New build thread to come!

Very cool project! They all hit bumps in the road but it's how we react. Very nice!
