My wife entered me (against my wishes) in my first "judged" car show last Saturday. Surprisingly, I got a top 40 award out of 131 entrants! And I had the only A body there!

I drove my ratrod to a car show once and the guy at the gate talked me into showing it in their ratrod class. I did . And a guy with a 2016 Camaro won the trophy. Go figure. My last car show. LOL

I would have put you in top 2 if mine was there. Nice looking ride. Fantastic restoration. Thanks for saving a great A body. That is how most car shows go with A body. You did great getting in top 40.

Love that!! I'm wanting to do a rod after my dart is finished. I don't necessarily want a rat rod I want it to look clean and finished I want like a 30s Plymouth coupe.

A 2016 Camaro won the Rat Rod class? Or are you saying the Camaro took top place? Either way,... a 2016 of anything should not be shown in my opinion. Really??.... 2 years old and it's being shown in shows??
I bought a 2010 Plum Crazy Purple Challenger when they were offered on a limited run. We drove it out to the Nationals in Ohio, but never even considered showing it. Why would I show a new car. Anyone could just go to the dealer and look at them.

Yes the camaro won the rat rod trophy. It was just as he bought it to. Bet he was proud !!!!

I have never entered any of my cars in any car shows. Driven them to them,... Yes. Entered them,... nope! I've had a couple people question why my Barracuda was sitting in the spectator parking area. I just said I didn't have time to stay all day, but wanted to come see the other cars.
Most shows don't like you leaving part way through the show. I prefer cruise-ins where you can stop by and meet other car guys, then leave when you're ready without anyone getting huffy about why they didn't win something.

I agree. Not a fan of "bring friends and win" car shows. I went to the local cruise-in every Saturday evening, all summer long and really had a great time.
