No...I do not think they were painted from the factory. 68 Dart, Bare grey fiberglass. I rebuilt mine with the same kit, and replaced my heater core and restored my blower motor. Before I assembled mine, I sprayed the cleaned cases with Clear Acrylic Enamel.... @ZMan67S
