1969 Daily Driver

This is a question about the routing of the heater hose. My car has a heater control valve so that is the reason for this question, is that the hot side or cold side. In other words does it come out of head into heater core then control valve or does it come out of head into control valve then the heater core. Any help. Thanks. I rebuilt the heater box and trying to get heat for the early morning.
