Stop in for a cup of coffee

When I lived in the desert as a youngster, sonic booms were an everyday occurrence. We were only 50? miles from Edwards AFB and George AFB was 30 miles. Those guys used to fly over us like they were late for cocktail hour . Edwards had the "Skunk Works" and they flew all manner of strange aircraft over us. We did see the Enterprise cruising past us in 75 or 76 on it's 747. :wtf: is that? The last sonic boom I recall hearing was the one and only time the Shuttle landed at Edwards. I knew for whatever reason they were landing on the west coast so I was kinda hanging out where I could keep my eyes to the sky. I did a lot of weeding around the plant that day . Saw an approaching vapor trail, right over our heads. Wait for it. BABOOM! I don't recall why they bypassed the runway we extended for it at Vandenberg AFB. Neat stuff.
That’s sweet. I never made it to a shuttle launch and the Apollo missions were before my time
