Spend some time on the East Coast. At the Jersey shore we regularly hear military jets going supersonic as they pass the coast. Back in the day when the Concorde was flying, we used to hear that go supersonic too.

My wife hates it because we live south of a military gunnery range by 20 miles. We’ll be outside, I’ll start hearing the jet engines and can guess whether it’s an f15, f16 or A10 just by sound. They each have a unique sound. She hates when I sit up and predict it haha.
