1972 Duster Build with my Daughter
The foot operated washer system.....
The center plastic should not be bonded to the rubber bladder so the seal is actually the plastic disk pulling back on the rubber bladder and pinching it to the metal bracket. That says the bracket around the hole is always submerged in washer fluid in that that area...
Now on the other side there is a flat rubber gasket so the fluid does not leak out around the threads of the plastic plate's nipple.
Guess what the size of that is? Almost the exact size of a garden hose gasket! I ordered some round ones from Amazon for the garden hose and to try on this...
You can see the nipple adapter has a flat back side that pinches the gasket to the bracket and the adapter. The small nipple has a small bearing in it to make a really cheap check valve... The direction seems backwards to me but I will learn more once we get it installed and try to operate it.
