Stop in for a cup of coffee

I do the same, zero hopes of winning anything as it is clearly a track car, I enter it just to show folks there's is a whole other side to the hobby. If a kid shows interest I always let him sit in the car strap in the harness and pose for a photo. I mean really, what can they tear up? Toggle switch dash and a racing seat! And you never know that kid might just develop a passion for our hobby.
The next generation that's why we go. Always love to see kids at the car shows showing interest.
Last summer met a young man, 14, at MOPARS in the Park. His Dad had a 67 Barracuda.
He knew all about my car, how special it was, everything. He went on and on saying he never thought he'd see one.
I asked him if he had anything sharp in his pockets. He looked puzzled and said No. I opened the drivers door and said get in.
First person I'd didn't know that I let do it. He earned the experience.
Told his Dad to get some pics. Told the kid put your arm up there on the door and act like you own it. He was smiling ear to ear!!
Hope he shows up again this year I have an extra Ddaddy calendar just for him.
