Painting over brake fluid contaminated fire wall?
I have had that happen several times (owned my 65 Cuda since 73) and in 2003 when I "Completely" Re did my Brakes system (new Front Disk install, new Master Cylinder, new SS Brake lines, new rear wheel cylinders etc. ) I decided to switch to DOT 5 ( Silicone )... I ain't had a problem since !!! Now if it leaks... It hurts Nothing... In fact, I found it Cleans ... LoL..
Now this is not for everyone... Because DOT 3 or 4 does NOT mix with DOT 5 !!!!! Every Piece in contact with the old DOT 3 or 4 needs to be replaced... Or at least the metal parts have to be super cleaned...
Note: I made a "DOT 5" badge to put on the New MC so I would not forget... And add DOT 3 by mistake!!
