You can't tell some young guys anything!

My eldest daughter, the rebellious one, told me once, when she was a tic under 16, If I didn't do such and such, she would leave.
I said seeya; You can come back any time, but My house/My rules. The other two didn't make no trouble.
She came back a few months later, didn't make any more trouble either.
The lesson was; don't make threats you cannot keep, or or will not enforce.
One of the things I see today's parents do, is to make idle threats. What does that teach your kids?
A long time ago, someone told me; it doesn't matter if I'm right or wrong, I'm the boss; If you don't like it, you can quit. I quit a lotta jobs. Eventually I figured it out, lol.
Maybe your guy will too.
Oh, and about that daughter; she came back to the fold permanently, and will be 39 soon. But she ain't having no babies, lol. There's a better than 50/50 chance the first one out is a rebellious one; it's been that way for a couple of generations; I was an eldest too.
