Keep it stock, or make it your own?

Terrible looking car, you should just put it on a trailer and send it to me.
You probably wouldn’t like it, the engine compartment and interior are a mess. I mean, jeez, it still has the original factory carpet in it. Who would want that?

It’s also been driven too much. It has $72k original miles. It’s nothing more than a soup can donor with that many miles on it.

Don’t even get me started on the trunk, total disaster.

Like I need another hole in the head. Lol.

Actually me and dad are working on a deal for a 1931 model A 5 window. Street rod project. Just waiting on a parts list and a final price.

If we end up getting it, it will have a build thread on FABO, because I like the people here, regardless of what car I’m building. Lol.

Ooooo. I've got one of those tucked away. Its untouched from the 60s.
Also got a 27T race car.

If you get it and need any advice or parts let me know.
Pay no attention to all the junk around her, shes on the back burner for now.

By the way that car is fully stock, just they way Henery Ford designed it. Besides the Olds rearend, the interior, the roof line, the Chevy engine &trans, the 4-71 blower, the Stromberg carbs....

Dd .. does your daughter get to drive the Dart to school? As minimally as my '72 was put together, my daughter had to fight the kids off to ride in it. Everybody had a cute little rice burner. She had the only v-8 Dart

No, she’s only 14. She won’t be allowed to drive it until she is 21.

She fell in love with the car when I first got it and has helped me doing a lot of the mods. She wants to keep it and drive it like I do, just for pleasure on nice days for the rest of her life. She has t-shirts, ads and other memorabilia for the ‘69 GTS that she has collected herself and holds dear. She even did her recent Senior presentation on the Scat Pack...by her own choice.

2 days ago she gave me a magnet she hand painted of the car to hang on the shop fridge...

We'll see when she gets to driving age . Just hold out one day for yourself per week to borrow it from her

Driving age in PA is 17. She wants to drive the 300C first and then graduate to the Charger SRT before she is ready to handle the GTS.

I’m more likely to lose her to the SRT before she gets there!

Boy howdy .. The choices a teenager has to make
Yeah, 365hp, 425 hp or 400 hp in a car that weighs 1000 lbs less without modern safety equipment.

She will learn...and develop the skills to drive them all...and probably better than I can.

I have no doubt. :)

GTFO!!! F....g guy posts cheesy pictures from the 80s. What a douche. Many of us on this site can DO IT ALL. Weld, fabricate, paint, bodywork, machine etc. Some choose to build what they like. Some assholes like you prefer to copy the factory which is pretty ******* easy to do. Roadmap already laid out for you. Geezers like you need to f.....g die off and take your puss (yes the virulent slime oozing from your gangrenous mind) and vinegar with you. RIP motherf.....r.

When did you last show at the concours d’elegance or receive a Riddler award.....uh NEVER is my bet. Poser.

Peace out chump.

Edit of F bombs
Nah I did one .
It was ok for an hour or so.
Thanks it was the boringest thing I've ever endured
Having to listen to dudes talk crap " my far is faster, I bult mine, my dad can beat up your dad kind of thing all freaking day
Never again did I enter a show.
I don't understand it, why would u purposely do that?
What's the draw to try showing your car?
Just don't get it.
MOPARS RULE..
peace.

Back when I was in high school all my friends had cool muscle cars. I worked a full time job and went to school to buy a car and she was BAD. it was a 1987 formula firebird, T top, 5 speed in dark blue. It came from a one owner, garaged its entire life, old lady.

I was so proud of that car. I payed for it my self in cash and still could make my monthly rent on my shity apartment in Hayward. (I left home at 16) when I have kids they will buy there own cars way before they drive any of mine.

Dude! That is sooooooo bitchin!!!! I love it!!

Thank you. She right out of American Graffiti besides a few things.

Dam near everything is period correct. She even has the old dragway stickers on the lexan. A few things have been messed with but nothing major.

Like I said, if you need anything just holler.

Holy cow is that yours cope?? Man I want one so bad. Lol that is gonna be my next project some day. I love it!

I'm old school too , and what that means to me is putting together a badass hotrod. fortunately, I was also raised in the Mopar world . it's in my blood , and all that equals tunnel Rams , dual quads, centerlines , jacked up rear ends ,headers, hacked off exhaust , big *** meats and rolling with the hood off so everyone can see that beautiful 440. is my charger rare or valuable? I don't give a flying **** , it's not about that. its about satisfying myself and seeing peoples faces in amazement that i so much as dare to run that contraption on the street. I do ALL my own work so that I will never have to pay someone or let anyone put a wrench on MY car.

All stock for me...
I like to think I have a big block in my small block.

Our hobby is just that a hobby, an activity people spend time and $ for their enjoyment. If a hobby, it is really not about selling the car, although it happens every day. It would be nice if every guy cold do all the work and spend all the , sell and recoup that, but it is what it is.
So I myself appreciate all makes of cars, although I have always been a Mopar guy, I appreciate these cars that are rebuilt, resurrected, modified, keep original, raced, whatever..bottom line the cars are enjoyed.
My take is give credit where due, makes not difference where the build is my cup of tea and not.

Never again did I enter a show.

It's fun to have people walk by a '69 GTX with a Hemi and look at my ratty *** car in primer, far from perfect but gets lots of attention.

Reason number two, it costs just a few dollars more, and I don't have to park and walk to the show, I'm already in.

Reason number three, I get to join the local FABO crew, and BS and drink a couple of cold ones, @toolmanmike brought some home brew last year. It's always worth going to the show for that meet-n-greet alone.

Reason number four, an excuse to add more miles to the odometer, not that I need one, but it's always valid.

It's the same mentality as joining this site, seeing other people's cars, showing yours off to those who like and appreciate it, gathering parts for current and future projects, and making friends with like minded individuals.

And if you don't get it, why'd you show a picture of two of your cars? :wtf: :realcrazy:
