I hear you on crappy machine work.
My machinist sold off his equipment a couple years ago, he got cancer.
So there is no machine shops worth a crap around here.
I have been taking my stuff to another guy, which he is real reasonable but a 4 hr round trip.

I just got back from his shop had to pick up my “J” heads that I returned to him earlier in the week because the valve tips were shoddy.

His prices are really good, just this one part was not up to my standards.
He charged me $650 to clean block and heads, manuflux, install cam bearings, do a valve job on the heads, minor mill to make sure they were flat and grind the crank.
