This stripe was on it when I bought it from a guy in Chicago several years ago. He told me this car had been raced in Iowa over along the river somewhere.
It had a stick welded roll cage in it and these subframes were tied together. I had a chassis Builder look it over and he told me that roll bar was not NHRA legal so I had him put in a chromoly cage.

I think (I could be wrong) that a guy that worked in the slip booth used to have that car parked on the return road by the booth.... But man, that was years ago. The color and roll bar seem correct, but I can't say the stripes ring a bell.....

P.S. - My '85 318 started in the sub zero weather we had with no choke.... you'll have to do better than "318won't start" LOL
