Help me sort my combo

If the engine is still in the car, get the timing set up correct. Will make a huge difference in how the car runs from bottom to top. THat cam love a TON of initial timing.Like 24-28* or more.
Hey crackedback! Have you considered a looser converter? how about rear gearing? Is compression enough for 292 cam?
I have the 508/108 in a 340 with a 2500 converter and it's a difficult tune up. Distributor is locked out at 35* timing. Starts fine even when hot. Be much better if the converter wasn't so tight at idle in gear. I didn't build it and the 508 cam WOULD NOT have been my first choice! The car is getting the original 360 and a XE262 cam, IIRC, built back up and installed.
