87 conquest 5.9 magnum s475
Figured id post up a build thread of my conquest as its nearing completion. A little info on the car.
1987 chrysler conquest
-stock bottom end 5.9 magnum with new rings, bearings, and arp rod bolts
-heads are stock magnum heads that have been opened up for 2.02 1.60 8mm chevy valves. I will be porting them along with some other "experimental modifications" that i will share details and pictures of later once im done with them and feel like they might actually work, lol.
-cam will be a regrind from oregon camshaft, specs are: 234/238 @.050 .600"/.602" w/ 1.6rr 114lsa +4 degrees advance
-904 trans extra clutch in the direct, billet servo, tranzact lba rev manual vb, kevlar bands, ati reverse wound direct return spring, 4.2 lever, aside from that stock rebuild.
-probably going with a budget ptc 9.5" converter, havent made it that far yet.
-s475 96mm turbine wheel 1.32 t6 housing, 5" exhaust dumped out fender, twin 38mm vband china wastegates
-hotside is modified block huggers with 2.5" piping and v bands, to a divided t6 flange with support bracket.
-fuel system is a pair of inline 225 walbros with a mallory 4307 reg, 750dp that i have converted to blow through, added billet metering blocks, xp bowls, hp main body, etc. also has a progressive snow performance meth kit. car will be run on 93 and w/m
-timing will be controlled through a daytona sensors cd-1 ign box, locked distributo and msd crank trigger.
-front suspension is modified factory spindles to take mustang coilovers on 10 way strange struts, with crown vic 12.5" rotors and camaro 2 piston pbr calipers. along with that i built custom control arms with a second pickup point to eliminate the factory strut rod. also has been swapped to a manual rack and pinion.
-rear suspension is a 31 spline 8.8 from an explorer, that has been narrowed to take 2 short side axles. 3.31 gears, spool, girdle cover, welded tubes, 9" big bearing conversion. I also took a left and right caliper bracket for each side, cut them in half, and welded them back together to give twin rear calipers for each side. all this is set up on 31" ladder bars with double adjustable strange coilovers. plan to add ARB down the road.
-car has a 10 point cage that also connects to some additional bars underneath that tie into the ladder bar cross member, kirkey seat and aftermarket gauges, other than that its stock interior with power windows and moon roof!
im sure theres more im forgetting but thats at least a start. hope you enjoy following along from this point to completion. It may not work but at least itll be fun!!! lol
