They are an expensive pump. I have one on my 408 (which is the one I'm converting to -20 on the outlet)

I have another on my 360 that's on the stand that I'll also do. I really like the Edelbrock water pumps.

It's really not that big of a deal though, -16 on top, -20 on the bottom. I've found that's how it's done... When everything works out okay, I'll convert my other engine the same way.

Only not with JB-Weld!! LOL.

72, this is all ultimately going through a thermostat hole about the size of a nickle...how much of a reduction is that?

Hey, do what you want man. It just seems strange to me to go out and buy a $300 water pump for it’s performance and then immediately restrict it.

But maybe I’m just a cheap bastard.

The passages in the heads are smaller than that.

Just knock all the lines down to 1/2”, shouldn’t make a difference right?
 
I've used 2 part epoxy to join aluminum A/C lines together with a coupler. OEM's do it. And it was on the high side, so plenty of heat and 200+psi. That was 8 years ago, still going strong.
 
I’m a welder and Part of me thinks with the right epoxy, it would be fine. We use a lot of epoxy on structural anchors into concrete and the strength is amazing.
As for the 50$, I used to do a lot of freebies, a long time friend got used to it and seemed to think I was like on call or something. At one point I had to charge him 75$ to make some used 3” 67-69 camaro exhaust fit his 76 nova. When I called him and told him cars done come get it, keys are in it, it’s 75$ I won’t be home.
He said ok... wait what??? 75$??? Yeah,that’s right 75$. a refill on the tank, a roll of wire, and my electricity. Do you want me to get into the cost of the machine, and my time?
He said no, I was surprised that’s all you wanted... 75$ is a good deal...the favors didn’t stop but they sure slowed down. And there were times he would
Throw me 20$ after that.

All this talk about alum. welding, reminded me of asking about alum. mig welding w/ a spool gun on here, (fabo). Was told don`t try it on sheet metal, to , a lot of practice. I just finished the THROTTLE BODY TO HOOD SEAL PAN) . (DAM CAPS BUTTON)
I started to get the hang of it about the time I finished , still not good enough to use w/o some cosmetic work tho. Only took me about 2 weeks , part time days. It`s pretty wierd looking, the throttle body is up in the 6 pack scoop with the new victor intake "on raised port heads." Have got a 14x 3" air filter, and lowered the hood ring to accept moroso flame proof foam for the sealing to hood . The trick part was making it fit the centered 19 1/2" hole in the hood , under the scoop.
Cant remember for the life of me what heat proof glue I used on the one I made for the old intake !---ANY SUGGESTIONS ??
