Dam my dad has a wing named after him at Clemson. Huge fan and my brother went there also! I actually dropped dads ashes at Hartwell dam as per his wishes. He was on the design team for it.

you might find this interesting... a few years ago they opened all of the flood gates at that dam at one time. This never happened before. Since it was near sunset the moisture in the air caused a horizontal rainbow across the lake. My brother ( professional photographer ) sold quite a few copies of his pictures. I might find a digital copy to share.
