Serious 64/65 904 trans question
Now, if you’re really up for a challenge, in 1965 only they made a 727 small block trans with the cable operated controls and the slip joint tailshaft. They came in 273 B body cars when so equipped. Not all were equipped with this trans, so it’s hard to find. Look for them in 4 door Coronets and other like cars from 65.
Not sure if you can just replace the tailshaft between this trans and a 904, but I know it swaps with the big block 727, as that’s what I did for my 64 Belvedere, and ended up with a big block push button trans with a slip joint tailshaft. A rare piece indeed!
