Speaking of sewing machines, my oldest just picked this one up yesterday. It's a 1946 Singer. The beginning of a collection? I don't know. He used our old portable machine last year to make his camping gear for his Colorado mountain hike. A down filled sleeping bag, hammock, canopy, and under cover all with light weight material.
