Could you read how the pressure is created? Around a sharp corner or such? When you're pulling by the front tires in the steering is unlocked it allows for turning movement. when you lock down the front you can see the steering wheel spinning back and forth when you go around corners. This allows the back tires to travel as they normally do. This is why you leave the car out of park at the very least so the steering wheel can turn freely allowing pivoting action.
