TORQUE CONVERTER ????

Building a converter that is capable of a 6000 rpm stall/flash speed that could still lock up enough in a street car during cruising enough to not constantly boil fluid over and cook the transmission in short order would have been an impossibility not too far ago in the past. IMO, It probably would have even been considered as a black art that could not be achieved by the hands of mortal man. Throughout most of the 90's, 4500-5000 rpm stall on the street was really pushing the limits of what was doable with the best technology available at the time. The best converters then were still far too loose to be considered much of a "Driver", as in limited cruising speed/distance without scorching fluid and changing transmission fluid more than having to change engine oil.
