Speaking of gambles. Think I'm going to go for this.
Was going to test the current output on the repaired alternator yesterday and it was being regulated to 15.0 - 15.2 Volts. :mad:
I'm suspecting the VR-128 may be temperature dependent just like the points types. Voltage seemed to come down as it warmed up. Didn't have time to really get it warm. Just needed to move it out of the way so I could work on the heep, I mean jeep.
I had a couple different regulators on my Swinger and regardless of brand, they all overcharged in the 15v. range. My buddy Joe got a hold of a few Mopar regulators and I put one on. 14.3-14.6. Standard and Echlin were both bad.
