1970 Duster 14/4 Rear Wheel and Tire Combinations

A 275 mm wide tire is the widest you can go without mods on a Duster/Demon/Dart Sport body. Height wise anything shorter than about 27” should work with no mods. Up to 28” tall works if you center the rear axle in the wheel wells, but that usually means moving the axle back about a 1/2”.

14x8 with 4 5/8 of backspace should be fairly close to what you need to run 275’s if you have an 8 3/4 rear axle. You’d have to measure your car to be sure, the spring to wheel mounting surface is the measurement you want.

Unfortunately, good luck finding anything near that size. Even BFG TA’s only go up to a 245/60/14 now. Coker makes a 265/50/14 but that’s only a 24.5” tall tire and they’re $310 each. Not a lot of options for radial street tires for a 14” rim anymore.
