Any one using the Spectre chrome valve cover?

Seen 'em for sale. They do fit. Longevity is ?? All vendors PN's look the same.

We have one brand new in the box in our basement.

We were going to use it on Jason’s car, but swapped to a 318 during the restoration.

$25 plus the ride and it’s yours.

PM me if interested.

Eric

They make a black one also. I would jump on that chrome one Eric, but I prefer the look of the ribbed early valve cover. I wish someone would make that.

And @Slantsix64 , how do you they're junk? You ever seen one in person and held it?

I have, and unless they have changed they seem to be made from thinner metal so they bend easily when bolted down so commonly have sealing problems.

Actually, if you want a nice chrome valve cover, Send a stock valve cover, of whatever style you prefer, to a quality chrome plating shop.
Another less expensive option is to have Leanna powder coat it.

I have one of the after market chrome valve covers also, given to me as a gift. I probably won’t use it. The cover I’m using now I bought from the local Dodge dealership, years ago. I think it’s one of the MP covers you could get then, paid $32.00 for it. Haven’t done anything with the new one, would love to sell it. Besides it has only 2 port openings I need 3. My old cover is still in great condition the only thing I did was to add a Pentastar on it. Thanks, Al

From personal experience the cheap metal or tin will always leak/bend . I use to sell them at work, would always have them returned couple days after install spectra= Chinese tin. You want a good valve cover use OEM get it chromed or offenhauser makes one but you know how that goes.
