I sandblasted the shock crossmember, and hit it with some leftover epoxy primer. The edges i left bare for 2 reasons. 1 i want to weld up and grind smooth the divots left in it from drilling out the spot welds, and 2 i am going to spray the flanges with some 3M weld thru primer. I am thinking its much better to just replace the whole crossmember than to section a piece of one in. Plus the scamp parts car had one that turned out to be in exellent shape once i bead blasted all the dirt and light rust scale off it.
