Exhaust for a 1973 Duster 340 (Pics Included)

I guess I'm missing the vin thing.
If it is an H code 73 then it was originally a 340 car.

It's a place to start. If it's NOT a 'H' code tag, chances are better it's not a 340. If it IS an 'H' code tag, that doesn't mean there's IS a 340 in it either.

Next question What is wrong with the stripes? They look like replacement 72 or 73 stripes. More like 72s I think.
Thank goodness they got the numbers facing the right way.

They look unlike any OEM stripes I've seen. IF they are '72, what are they doing on a '73 car? Another thing, considering the condition of the paint and trim (not existent on the windshield), why are the stripes not checked or cracked? The tape on the back looks like what kind of OEM stripe? Meaning, besides no OEM stripe ever.

Personally I would crawl under the driverside an confirm that it is a 340 block if I was paying extra bucks for it to be a 340 car.

Absolutely! That is the entire point. If the OP is paying for a 340 car, it certainly has to have a 340 in it! Personally, I could care less what its stripes look like if it IS indeed a 340 car. He can fix the stripes if he wishes. Fixing a 'not a 340' part? That's a tougher job and certainly a pantload more money.

I don't understand why others aren't trying to protect the guy!!
