I bought a turbo 350 for the Impala. That should prove to be a profitable upgrade over the powerglide. You can buy a different shift detent and indicator for the SS console shifter for a little over a hundred bucks. Tranny was $300. Almost a direct swap. Driveline will work. I will have to work on kick down linkage as the 350 is cable and the PG is rods.
