1969 Dart Street/Strip (Re)Build

Thanks Clint , good info ----

No problem. I can correct a lot of my issues by swapping my front wheels with the new backspace offering Billet Specialties has now which is made more for our cars. It would put the wheel .75” inward which would in turn allow me to extend my control arms another .75” longer and I will get more travel. It’s just the pain of having to sell perfectly good wheels for much less than what you bought them for and then have to buy them new all over again.

Boy I just can’t seem to quit buying old Mopars lately. I’ve seen this truck for several years. Had a freeze plug come out of the engine and didn’t get it fixed. Someone broke the back window out several months back. That got me in gear to go see about saving it. So long story short, it’s a ‘91 FI V6 5 Speed with a heck of a straight body with the worst of the rust being in the cab drip rail in the center. He said the heads and transmission had been gone through before it spit the plug out and he said the AC worked. So we made a deal and I picked it up for $400. This will probably be a flip truck, depending on how much I end up liking it.

Best looking front end of all the old dodges !

clinteg do you happen to know the paint color/code of your dart?

My Demon has the dash and under hood painted pretty much the same color and was thinking I may stick with that color once I get it painted, with maybe a bit more metallic flake.

Originally it was sprayed with Ford’s Redfire Metallic when I bought it. Now it’s a custom mix that’s a bit different than it was.

Thank you for response, feedback. Helps to have a starting color base to work with before tweaking it to my liking!
That is one nice looking Mopar!

I completely understand. The color in your picture does look very similar to how mine was painted before.

Such a nice build. You may already had a picture but ow do you connect your ididit column to your steering box? I saw the pics of the bearing mod but not of how much shaft goes thru. Thanks Dustin
