So today I called Classic Auto Air to see if they would they would sell some of the AC vents from their retrofit kit separately. The tech said that they would, but made sure to let me know that they were not to the original size. I told him that was fine, I liked the way their vents fit in the dash, and not hang below . He then said something that took me off guard a little. He said," No offence, but a lot of you Mopar Guys like your stuff to be original." I laughed and let him know I was building a restomod Challenger, and wanted to be comfortable and actually drive my car, and not worry about numbers matching. He seemed relieved, and we talked about the application for awhile. After I hung up, I remember these are the guys who do the restoration work for Graveyard Carz. The way he said "You Mopar guys" made me wonder what brought that on. I am not here to trash Mark, or his shop. What I have to ask, is what effect his show is having on our hobby. How does it shed light on restoration industry, and those of us who just like driving, and modifying our Mopars.

I think the show actually helps, not only is Mark doing 100% restorations he is also building a lot of modified and restomods. They are doing the best of both worlds and even stuff in between, I think this is helping the Mopar community all the way around, of course I'm a big Mark Worman fan, I'm glad someone has brought Mopar into the spotlight.

Since I just got a B body that is in line with what that show works on, I find myself watching it more and more. I’m never a big fan of the goofy antics of the show, and not really interested in the “facts” that Mark likes to offer up, but I can look past that and watch for the quality of work, and some information for my project. As for its effect on the hobby, most of my friends already know a ton about Mopars, so the show has little to no effect on the hobby in our area!

Sadly-the show has changed, the show was facts and actually work being done. Like restoring a heater box for Goldberg’s blue convertible. But lately it’s more about the antics and him trying to be Michael Scot from Dunder Mifflin Paper- aka The Office” tv show.

I can’t watch any longer. Even if he has helped the MoPar community with bringing more items to the market. Between too many commercials and the stupidity... but he has a tv show and I don’t. Maybe the antics keep it on the air.

I think it is very valuable to have someone like Mark restoring these old mopars to the way they rolled off the assembly line and back to factory specs. The muscle car era only came around once, and to have them "time capsuled" back to those days is incredible in maintaining that part of car history.
And as much as I find restoring them to factory specs important, putting your own personal stamp of individual customization on them was a part of the culture back then as well.......I love the red crushed velvet/black diamond interior my Demon currently sports....lol....but I grew up in that era of the 80's when dressing your car up with all the shiny chrome under the hood, along with mags, paint, etc was the in thing.
Having anyone interested in the old mopars, or any old classics, is very valuable these days.

First of all , Mark Worman is not the only one doing Mopar restorations . There are several companys out there that are doing outstanding work without the dramatic b.s. Is he smart , yes , is he talented , yes , is he a good business man , yes , and he makes me want to barf . "O.E.M., O.E.M." is all I here from him . He has never worked on a Letter car or a Max Wedge or a Lil Red . He never worked n anything modified until recently . Anyone can spent $200,000 on a car that's worth $50,000 . Just sayin'

Funny, IMO GYC has changed several times for the better, with less antics each time.

Mopar guys have always been targeted as being "different" and/or "funny" if you will.

Govier and Worman don't necessarily help.

But it seems like it's easy for the general population to make the jump from-

It's not a mustang or a camaro and I don't want to "back half" it...

...to "you Mopar guys_____....." (fill in the blank).

I was at the cruise night, and I was talking to a Ford, Chevy guy. He said I was alright. He thinks most Mopar guys are A holes. Wonder how we got that reputation? Personally, I find chevy guys to be A holes. They won't talk to you if you don't have a Chevy.

I was at a cruise night and the same thing happened to me and my wife . ford and chevy guys walked right by me and went to a p.o.s. ford and were all over it . Looked like he just dragged it out of the woods . One guy finally came over and said , "Nice car , did you do this yourself ". "Yes", I said . 99% of people don't have a clue of what it takes to bring these cars back .

Gee, and here we regard Chevie and Furd Guys A holes

Or maybe your just reading too much into it. I have watched maybe twice and it was all I could handle.:drama:

After having a 600 horse sc vega , I`ve noticed a little of that too !

Last night "Dougie" was talking to the camera the whole show, like he was teaching or something / he did have new supposedly clueless helper that was just as bad photogenically .
The 71 roadrunner wasn't too exciting either !

But then some Mopar guys take it a step farther with their brethren, well my Mopar is more rare than your Mopar or you just have a lowly Valiant so I can't be bothered to talk to you no matter how original it is. There's arrogance with anything.

well every car show i have been at i will get a comment about my car witch they will say ( i'am glad you didn't put a chevy in it ) as for mark worman he is kool especially on the sema car a 1958 plymouth with the hellephant 1000 hp motor. MOPAR OR NO CAR!

Dayum...your morning off to a bad start??? My brother works with cousin Douggies kid. We are trying to set up a time to go down and see the shop on a Sunday and meet some of the guys and just have a look around.

Getting everyone on the same schedule right now is the issue. May not happen until 2020 at this rate. I'm looking forward to going there.

LOL okay so maybe that's a little harsh but the other day I watched an episode I'm sorry 2 episodes when he talked over Galen govier whom of which I could give a f less about anyways but he asked the guy to come out and check numbers on the car then talked over in the whole damn time just to prove how much smarter or he thinks he is. That in quite a few guys have left last I heard. He then also tries to make the show a little more comical by making jokes but it's really like the awkward Mark moment of the show. Nothing personal to your friend or your son or anything like that just mark haha

I love the comedy and antics on Graveyard cars, I've always thought building cars and having fun is what its all about, just think, would you rather be watching Richard Rawlings? :)

I could do without the belittling condescension. The guys in the shop seem like really good people. I like seeing the work performed. They did a very nice job on the Duster. Maybe they’ll do a 68-69 Dart one day. I’ll tune in more for that. B/E body stuff gets boring after a while.

Has anyone noticed, in the last couple episodes, Mark isn't on camera as much as he used to? Except for that annoying "Graveyard Bunch" deal he did. I almost turned it off. I couldn't stand the Brady Bunch back in the day either. Also, I don't know if it's his personality or not, but the painter Will has been acting like a dick to the other employees. And, where is his daughter, Alyssa? She made the show more interesting. It seems like they are constantly trying to find the right formula.
As far as the Helephant going into a bone stock 58 Fury, that is the worst idea ever. Putting that engine in a car that can't come close to using even some of the power that engine is capable of. At least it's better than every other show that puts an ls motor in everything. These are just my opinions. Yours may vary....
