Putting in a SB

Rather than cut the radiator support, doesn't it attach w/ bolts (never removed)? But, most people install an engine & tranny thru the top w/ hood off, though post 5 says you can get it in under the hood. If you do remove the hood, drill 2 small locating holes in each arm to relocate so you don't spend a day trying to realign it. I marked w/ a Sharpie, but not good enough. My 1985 M-B is designed so the hood can be rotated up to vertical for major work (didn't know until after an engine swap). Some people lift the car body and roll the whole engine-tranny and K-frame w/ suspension under then bolt up. That is smart if you also need to rebuild suspension and steering. Search for photos.
