Hey all! So glad this forum exists, the amount of info and experience stashed here is unbelievable!

I found a 69 Barracuda notchback on CList last summer, and it was a good enough deal that I had to have it. It's a ModTop car, original 318 auto, that's had the engine swapped for another, more built 318 and with a Ford 8.8 rear (3.73 LSD). Still has the original 904 trans, ModTop interior, buckets+console car, and all in pretty good condition! Owner also had the original 318 on blocks awaiting a rebuild, original rear axle, original hubcaps and air cleaner, you name it!

I have a 440 and a 727 that I'm working on swapping into it, so I have a feeling I'll be frequenting here much more often!

I would want to put it back to stock, Mod Top & all.

Scarce car!

I agree! The vinyl top was removed when it got repainted, but I verified that it's a real ModTop and then registered it at MoPar Mod Top and Mod Interior Registry as well. Once I'm finished having fun with the 440, I want to put that original 318 back in it and restore it right. I'm promising myself that I wont cut the fenders or tub the rear. I'd rather abandon the 440 swap altogether than chop this car up!

Nice Cuda! Do you really want to put in that heavy 440? A warmed up 318 can be lots of fun too.

Welcome. Great car. Love Mod Tops and Interiors. What is the original body color?

I would imagine thats the high impact yellow. Lemon Twist was one name for it. I used it on a 71 Gremlin repaint ( my 1st car and car wreck ).
Some number of mod trim cars were ordered with vinyl top delete, so only the interior got the mod trim.

That car looks familiar...i wonder if it belonged to a member on here
