In 1972, the engines were made with steel cranks, lower compression, 4 eyebrow pistons and heads with 1.88/1.60 valves. 1973 had the cast cranks. This short block did not have the pistons changed since it's a 1972 model year engine. The 68-71 engines had the higher compression, 2 eyebrow pistons and steel cranks. The block is standard bore and the steel crank is standard rods and mains.
