I did the alternator install over the weekend.
I also did a little paranoia wiring upgrading as well. Made a 6 gauge charge wire, and a new 12 gauge wire to the regulator. I tried to get the colors the to match those in the harness... They are not all prettified and bound together yet. Also, the ground wire is a horrid temporary setup, which I will fix, probably this weekend.
After I put these Trans-Dapt alternator brackets on, I didn't like how they looked, so I ordered a March Performance set, that will go on when I do the pulley swap.
In this picture, you can see the shitty 50 year old wires, not the new ones I made.
I bought a Milwaukee 8975-6 heat gun for this job for about $75 or so. Made in China. I was PISSED when I saw that.
I will get more pics and more video up this weekend, hopefully with the new pulley installed at the same time, AND the new alternator bracket.
I'll post up a complete list of tools and parts used in this job when I finish the job.
