Converting Carter AVS to electric choke

Hi everyone,

I've done quite a bit of research and have found a couple threads throughout the web, but I'm still left with some open questions of 1) what do I buy, 2) how hard is this to do, and 3) do I need to do any drilling?

I have a 440 AVS 750CFM carb which is going on an LD340 intake that does not have a divorced choke location. The obvious choice here is to convert the AVS to electric choke.

What do I need to buy/make, and does anyone have pictures/a step-by-step guide to get me going?

Yes it can be done and yes I have done this and yes you need to drill and tap for the screws to attach the electric choke housing. I did this about 19+ years ago. I did show it here.

I deleted the pull off IIRC. It was t needed for the job at hand.

Post #3 here. Another shot on page 2, in post #27, kick down mod on page 4, post #80 Not much info.
