Converting Carter AVS to electric choke

Thanks Rumble! Could use your help....The kickdown is unrelated to the choke, correct?

I could buy the Edelbrock Electric choke set, but I would prefer something like what you did....that has a black mechanism not a chromed edelbrock looking thing.

So #1: find a proper looking choke (black), #2: drill and tap for correct screws, #3: remove brass inlet and insert an inner inlet?, #4: use/fab another linkage that would connect to the choke lever on the carb.....should be it?

I'll worry about wiring it in later...I think you have to use a source that is only active when the engine is running--and you shouldn't tap into the coil if I remember correctly.

This is all going on an LD-340 intake that doesn't have a divorced choke well. So this forces me to do something like this. I want to keep with my Carter AVS because I'm looking stock and going fast, even if I have a round black thing on the side of my carb. :)
