Rare M Code 'cuda (?)

Know your last question was aimed at BB-Dave, and dont know if you are only talking of M code fastbacks, but I can speak with authority as to 1 original 69 notch with black vinyl top and 318. Bought it from original owners son once she passed around 2006, had only 32K on tbe clock, always garaged, looked like new and still had that new car smell due to such great loving care.

Very cool!!! Yep, all Barracuda's from Slant Six to 440. How many had "Wigs" in '69?
There is no way to know, Chrysler didn't keep track of those options. Vinyl tops on fastbacks are very rare, not so for notchbacks. Actually as far as M code notches in the registry, there are more with vinyl tops than not!!!
Can anyone help me find a vinyl top with the roof top sides trim that go from the rear window to the front windshield

I have an oem set (left and right) from a 69 Barracuda and a NOS right side still in the original wrapper and tube. I DO NOT have the hardware to install in the holes. Not sure how much of a hurry you're in to get them. I'm in NJ and they're in storage in NC. Won't be down there for a few weeks. PM me to discuss.

Weird time warp here. I was just googling something and this old FABO thread came up, from before I'd even discovered FABO. I realize that BB Dave passed away unexpectedly last year, which also makes this thread somewhat melancholy as well.
I wish I'd seen this thread earlier. But in case anyone is still interested, yes the car still exists. It's my car, that I bought from my brother in 1973. That first pic in the thread was indeed at Car Craft Nats. Must've been '80 or '81. The girl is pretty hot. It did indeed have the white wig (lol) vinyl top from the factory. Chrysler called it the 'Slickback' vinyl roof option. I've read that they only installed it on something like 600 cars altogether in '69. As far as I know it is the only M-Code 'Cuda with that vinyl top. I believe it might be the only one with some other options, such as functional hood scoops, factory hood pins, even a vinyl cover for the jack in the trunk!
The car is currently undergoing a cosmetic restoration that I started a little over a year ago. Sadly, I did have to remove the vinyl top, because there were a couple rust through spots underneath. I made sure to have the correct replacement vinyl in hand (color is pearl white) from Legendary before I peeled off the original one, so the good news is it will look like it did when new.....presumably. When I get it done, that is. My goal is to get all paint work done before the end of this summer season, assemble over the winter, and have it on the road by 2020. At least that's the plan. Sure wish I could make it to Carlisle this summer, but it just ain't in the cards.

Very cool. The hood pins were not an option I don't believe. The functional hood scoops were also not a factory option. They were sealed, but an advertisement from Plymouth stated that the owner could cut them to make them functional.
Very cool car. I knew Dave very well, I was just at his house yesterday talking to his wife. I had the M Cuda registry in my hand looking for info on my M Code. Hopefully I will be taking it over until I can find someone as dedicated as

There is nothing wrong calling any Barracuda "Cuda" Where you are wrong is 'Cuda. (Single quote.) Chrysler designated that name for specific E body cars that are very different than A body Barracudas. In fact. They don't belong on the "Forabodiesonly.com" site. I have an A body Duster. E body 'Cuda and B body GTX. And very few parts are interchangeable.
I do agree on Dodge trying to incorporate any Plymouth model name to their lines. I made a recommendation to Chrysler. If you must develop and market a Plymouth? At least have the common decency to badge it under "Mopar Performance" banner?
Not sure what you are trying to say about the "Cuda" name? It first appeared on a 1969 Barracuda as an option package with it spelled out on the front fender with twin scoops on the hood and a special black out stripe package. So the Cuda was a 69 car which was not an E Body but an A Body. Just my 2 cents

My 69 Barracuda Fastback still has its original black vinyl top. I read somewhere that only around 600 fastbacks, were built with vinyl tops in 1969.
But sadly, my car came originally with the lowly 318 2V, which has been replaced with a mildly built 340. In fact, I have replaced the whole drive train.
