Holley quick change float bowls?

-
My man Al at it again! Yea bro! Burn me a dawg or two!
I also removed the accusump when I went on a Lee-la-lane/Jenny craig diet.I was able to remove 200 lbs and set the engine back while adding "J" bars.Oldman, you MUST have seen my 63 Plymouth at Carlisle in the last 25 years,,,,or maybe South Mountain.
I come over here from FBBO to jurk errr I mean lurk at all the cool A's!
For those that don't know me, this is a street car that goes to 3 or 4 local car cruises a week and there are car shows every weekend! Here on Long Island there is a cruise spot every night of the week with car shows every weekend except Mothers day,,,,,weather permitting!

Holley jet changes are simple, those plates try to reinvent the wheel. When we race, it might take me 3-5 minutes to change jets. Drain fuel, pull screws & plates, change jets, reassemble.

I'm very familiar with changing jets. I just figured if I dont have to pull the 4 bowls it would be nice.

Just one less part to remove. Just not sure if its 200 dollars nice.
:)

You may want to look into the oversized bowls with dual needle and seats in each bowl of you are going blower. The needle and seat is the big cork in getting enough fuel in the bowls.

Got a part number?

I'm already over 1,200.00 into carbs that need work so.. lets not get crazy...

Also I'm not ritch so what it takes is what it takes but if there are parts that can save me from my lady leaving then I'm into it.

Let me see if I can find them.

A quick search shows a Quick Fuel part number 34-114 but I've also seen some with dual needle and seats and and dual feeds for each bowl. That part number Quick Fuel bowl is single feed with dual needle and seats. Very cool, especially if you need it. I'll look and see if I can find the dual feed dual needle and seat bowls. I know I've seen them.

You can also get what's called the Fuel Chute fuel bowl from Dave Braswell. I have a pair of those on a Dominator I have sitting on the shelf. Those are cool too.

My spending cash is drying up quick.

I can drill out the factory bowls for dual feed if that helps.

Now we are back to the bottleneck of the single needle and seat.

I have -8 hard line feed line clean and smooth from the tank with -6 return.

Yeah, that's the issues. Hell for about 50 bucks each you can call BLP and they'll sell you bowls with both sides drilled. But you are still trying to stuff all that fuel through on e needle and seat. Also, BLP sells bottom feed needle and seats that flow more and create less aeration than conventional center feeders. I run those, just because I like cool trinket type ****.

Me and 62's go back a long way. My first car was a 62 polara 500 HT Red with white spears. I was 16 in 1971.

When the carb is correct you almost never change a jet.

Warren Johnson used to say he'd go from Denver to Sonoma and then Woodburn and finish up in Seattle and never change a jet.

He was DA MAN too! I was lucky enough to shake his hand and talk to him in the mid 80s at the "Little SEMA Show" held in Atlanta back then. The Professor. I liked him a lot. Very rarely did you see him get rattled.

I was enjoying the pics of the 63's until the last picture. Next time you have steaks on the grille I'll keep an eye on them for you. 9 seconds is all I'll need. When I got to that picture the whole room had an odor of a cook out. You didn't have to add that picture. Teasing me with your car is one thing. The steaks are overkill. What time is dinner at your house? I would like to come and see your stea-'s I mean car. LOL
Just catch me at the tracK. That's all I bring along with forks , knives ,plates and beverage.

I have a set of Quickchange bowls
If you use a Jet Driver you wont lose the jet on the way out.
Funny thing is they are not on a carb right now...just sitting in a box somewhere . Still have the original box in fact.

I think for a car like mine, that wouldn't be of value due to the back bowl would still need to come off to change jets.
Carb setting sideways, on a blower......I might be tempted:poke::D

Just because troy (TMP Carbs) was a fan of that I will never use it.

He cut an run on a business buy out, screwed my buddy who is 85 years old and left a lot of customers with missing parts, engines, carbs, that my other buddy is still working to make right.
He was a loudmouth know it all at speedtalk forum until someone, probably Don, finally had enough.
enough of him.
What I wanted to offer was that BLP has a revised version of the power plate. It's based off of Hammel's Rapidjet version of the same concept.
They were selling them at a discount about a year ago.
Yup.
BLP Rapid Jet

Neat product. Very tempting, but trying not to buy stuff that's not in an immediate plan to use....
LOL

edit: Earlier versions shown here: Something a little different
