I added mine to try to keep from getting rear ended. People now are accustomed to the third brake light and ‘68 Barracuda brake lights are on the small side and not overly bright. When leaving car shows in the evening it always bothers me that some of these beautiful older cars have very small and somewhat dim rear lights. Some of them cars are even hard to see from behind depending on color.
