Inspection of a 904 torqueflite

Which one of these pictures makes you think I should start with a different core?

Is it the thrust washers or the hard parts?

Also.....let’s say I do get a difference case.....
What would it take for me to get overdrive? I would rather have that. Or convert this one to overdrive.
