You're doing good- it runs! Make sure there are no open ports on the carb or intake manifold. These cause a vacuum leak (engine pulls in too much air) causing too lean a mixture (not enough fuel). With the engine running you should be able to pull off the PCV valve and feel the vacuum from the carb. The PCV valve is there to pull gases, including your white gases from the inside of the engine. It appears to not be working well but we can worry about that later along with other hoses to the air cleaner. Let's get it running. Lets check the timing and then move on to possible carb issues.
