Dartin for Divorce

On the engine, theres 'rebuild" and "overhaul". Rebuild , to me means you tear it down, check everything by taking measyrements, then get machine work done etc. "Overhaul" is more of a 'tear down, clean inspect, if the crank journals still good, polish with emery clloth, if bores still good, hit em with a hone job, replace bearings, gaskets, maybe even reuse pistons if theyll clean up. One is more "inexpensive" than the other, Im thinkin 4-6 grand is a "rebuild" including new everything, and going .030 over on the cylinder bore, new pistons, a new crak, cam just about everything new, including machine work.

Yes that's what I was asking. For a rebuild, I want it reliable, I don't want to take the kids for ice cream and the car blow up and us stuck walking home lol.

I called another machine shop here in town that I was referred to and the guy quoted me 2800 -3100 for a full rebuild of the 340.
