65 barracuda trunion driveshaft conversion

OK here is a cut and paste of my post on the valiant barracuda site. I have included ALL of the necessary part numbers:

I just bought all the parts for the conversion and dropped them off at the driveshaft builder. Several things:

1 - the part number for the slip yoke is incorrect in the tech how to section. The correct # is 2-3-8001kx.

2 - You also need to buy a rear weld yoke and conversion u joint for the rear if someone is making you a shaft.

The correct part # list is:

2-2-349 flange yoke (front most part)
5-153x front u joint
2-3-8001kx slip yoke
2-40-1711 spline
correct length of 2.5" .083" wall tube
2-28-367 weld yoke
5-788x u joint (this u joint makes the transition between the new rear weld yoke sized for a 1310 joint and the 7260 size at the rear end pinion yoke).

All part #'s are dana spicer and easily available from places like denny's driveshaft where I found the lowest prices by far.

Having your shaft built with these parts gives you an easy bolt in fix. Work with your shaft builder to make sure what you're measuring for overall length is clear. I worked with shaftmasters near dearborn MI.

I picked up the shaft and installed it. Drove the car a bit no issues no vibrations. It is difficult to get a tool on the 9/16 hex of the 3/8-24 nuts to hold the new flange onto the trans tail flange. I have parts coming to restore the old trunnion shaft for a spare.
