Whoa, that's a lot of work and may be beyond my expertise and forgets the first thing about my car. It's a 10-15ftr, doing something the correct way would not upset the purists...
You're right though, I'll probably cut some metal tabs, then fill in the gaps with purple duck tape so it looks "pretty." Or maybe get fancy and cut some cardboard tabs in the size of the gaps and transfer that cardboard onto a plastic to cut out and place the plastic there.
Today is my last test day so I'll have a little more time these next 3 weeks to play with the car and get it back up and running. Which if it cools nicely and doesn't have much problems will be fun, I have classic collectors insurance which let's me drive 6k miles a year and I'm covered driving it to and from school, all for a big price tag of $116 a year!
